State Board Requirements
When you enter a LVN school like CCI, you’ll work toward earning a diploma that puts you on a direct track to a restricted career such as nursing. To qualify for an VN license in California and become a licensed professional, you must:
- Meet the state’s Board of Vocational Nursing requirements.
- Complete the necessary education and training at an approved licensed vocational nursing program.
- Pass the National Council Licensure Exam for Licensed Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).
Education and Training Prerequisites
Registration and certification requirements for taking and passing these examinations are not controlled by CCI, but by outside agencies, and are subject to change by the agency without notice. Therefore, CCI cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take these exams, at all or at any specific time, regardless of their eligibility status upon enrollment.

Convenient Part-Time Schedule
As a nursing student in our hybrid LVN program in California, you’ll dedicate just three days per week to nursing courses, labs, and clinical training:
- Two evening weekdays from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- One weekend day for labs and clinicals
This flexible schedule allows you to balance your education with work and other commitments. With the entire workweek available for full-time employment, many CCI students in California take advantage of our part-time LVN program at our licensed vocational nursing school, allowing them to continue gaining real-world experience as CNAs or in other healthcare roles while completing their training.
