As CCI’s Student Success Coordinator, Lusine works closely with students who need encouragement, structure, or simply someone to listen. And when she talks about supporting students, her message is clear and consistent:
“Struggling does not mean failing. Struggling means growth.”
For Lusine, that belief isn’t just something she says — it’s something she has lived.
Originally from Armenia, Lusine moved to the United States 14 years ago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education before deciding to pursue a new path in healthcare. “I like helping people,” she explains. “That’s when I decided to pursue my career in nursing. I thought this is the best field I can find myself.”
Her search for the right program led her to CCI, where she was drawn to the flexibility and supportive environment. After graduating in 2024, she chose to stay connected to the school — this time in a role focused entirely on helping others succeed.
“I just don’t want the students to pass,” she says. “I want the students to believe in themselves.”
“I’ve seen students ready to quit,” Lusine shares. “I’ve seen students who are emotional and overwhelmed. And I always remind them to believe in themselves.”
Her role goes far beyond reminders. She helps students build realistic study plans, develop consistent routines, and stay accountable to their goals. She answers emails, checks in with students, and creates space for honest conversations.
“Sometimes students reach out after exams,” she says. “They are looking for guidance and emotional support. I make sure to be there, to answer their emails, to listen to them. Even after work hours, if they need support, I try to be there.”
For Lusine, listening is one of the most powerful tools she has. It’s also what she loves most about being a nurse. “My favorite part is listening to patients,” she explains. “Sometimes all they need is just someone to listen to them.” That same compassion carries directly into her work with students.
One of her most memorable experiences involved a student who struggled for a long time. The student stayed in close contact with Lusine, asking for guidance and encouragement throughout the program.
“I encouraged her never to give up,” Lusine recalls. “She passed her final exam. Then she passed her licensing exam. She came back and said, ‘You won’t believe it, I passed.’ It was very rewarding.”
Moments like that remind Lusine why her role matters. Student success is not just about grades, it’s about resilience, confidence, and believing you are capable even when things feel difficult.
When asked what advice she gives students most often, her answer is simple: consistency.
“Study daily. Daily,” she emphasizes. “Don’t think you have time. You’re never going to have time. Work on a daily basis and you’ll be successful in the program.”
She encourages students to use a calendar, create a clear schedule, and stick to it. Small, consistent effort builds momentum. Momentum builds confidence. And confidence helps students finish what they started.
Having experienced CCI both as a student and now as a staff member, Lusine believes the school stands out for two main reasons: flexibility and support. “CCI stands out with its flexibility and support,” she says. “We have amazing educators that care for student success. We always try to be there to listen to our students and help them be successful in the program.”
She also understands that the journey isn’t easy. “This journey is not easy,” she says honestly. “It’s overwhelming. Emotional. Challenging. But it’s worth it.”
Her encouragement to students who may be doubting themselves is heartfelt and direct:
“Believe in yourself and never give up. If I was able to do it, you’ll be able to be successful in the program too.”
For students who are feeling stressed, discouraged, or unsure of what to do next, Lusine wants them to know one thing above all else: they are not alone. Support is here. Growth takes time. And struggling is part of the process, not the end of it.
At CCI, success is a team effort. And Lusine is one of the people making sure every student knows they have someone in their corner.
While Lusine is calm, supportive, and steady when helping students navigate stress, she has another side that might surprise you.
She’s a bit of a daredevil.
From jumping off the Stratosphere in Las Vegas to parasailing high above the ocean, Lusine isn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone.
That fearless spirit shows up in more ways than one.
Whether it’s leaping from incredible heights or encouraging a student to push through self-doubt, Lusine believes growth happens when you face challenges head-on.
Because in her world, whether you’re standing at the edge of a platform thousands of feet above the ground or preparing for your final exam, the principle is the same:
Take the leap. Trust yourself. Don’t let fear decide your future. And if you need someone cheering you on before you jump, she’ll be right there.
