Insights From Outstanding Students
This month, we are proud to share inspiring testimonials from two of our Outstanding Students who have demonstrated what is possible through focus, discipline, and determination. Both students have achieved a 4.0 GPA while balancing the demands of school, life, family, and personal responsibilities. Their success comes from building strong daily habits, including making school a top priority, completing homework first, reviewing material consistently, preparing notes before lectures, and using ATI as a resource to strengthen their understanding.
Kenia Escaramuza
“Balancing life, family, work, and school hasn’t always been easy for me, but I’ve learned that staying organized and managing my time makes all the difference. I try to plan out my week ahead of time so I know exactly when I can focus on studying, even if it’s just a couple of hours each day.
One thing that’s really helped me is setting clear priorities and tackling the most important tasks first instead of putting things off. When I used to wait until the last minute, it created a lot of stress, so now I make it a point to start assignments early and break them into smaller steps. I’ve also learned that it’s okay to take breaks and give myself time to recharge. That balance helps me stay focused and avoid feeling overwhelmed. And when I need help, I don’t hesitate to ask — whether it’s from instructors, classmates, or my support system.
For me, consistency has been key. Even on busy days, I try to do a little bit of studying so I can stay on track. My advice to other students is to stay organized, be patient with yourself, and remember why you started. If you stay consistent and focused, you can absolutely make it work.”
Camila Grijalva
“Balancing school with everyday responsibilities takes focus, planning, and consistency. For me, making school a top priority has helped me stay on track. I try to use my time wisely by listening to ATI like a podcast when I am busy with other activities, and I dedicate at least one to two hours each day to homework, studying, and reviewing what I have learned.
I have also found that preparing notes before lecture makes a big difference. It helps me come to class with a better understanding of the material, so I can add more detail during lecture and feel more prepared.
My advice to other students who are struggling with balance is to start with your homework and take things one step at a time. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed, but it is important to remember how much knowledge and experience you have already gained. You have made it this far for a reason, so don’t lose sight of your progress. Most importantly, always remember why you started this journey. Think about the people you may help in the future and the difference your hard work can make. Keeping that purpose in mind can help you stay motivated, even on the challenging days.”
Their journeys remind us that academic success is not about perfection. It is about commitment, consistency, and the willingness to keep going even when life gets busy. Congratulations to all of our Outstanding Students!
